Mepham Auditorium and Map

Over the years the large auditorium at Mepham High has been revised and renovated numerous times. The stage lighting and sound have gone high tech, a new grand piano has been brought in, and in 2003 a major renovation replaced the flooring, seats, and curtains.

What graduate of Mepham doesn't recall staring at the huge map that covers the left wall of the auditorium? Well, it is in need of some restoration. While 2003's events have distracted us, the Alumni Association plans to have it done. This requires not only research (which we have been doing), but also money. That could be quite expensive to do. Your membership money will help us achieve that goal. We'll keep you updated on progress.

Do you recall the quotation below the map? "The Virtue Lies in the Struggle Not the Prize,"

See the article about it by Betty Mae Foster Parnell '48 at The Prize in our Alumni Today section.

Do you recall the quote on the opposite wall? "The foundation of every state is the education of its youth."
